
The curator should realize an exhibition concept with an experimental and innovative approach. The curator is encouraged to deal with themes and tendencies that are current and urgent, relevant and representative of our times. The aim of the exhibition is to introduce new local and international perspectives, enhancing curatorial research, exchange, and discourse in Rotterdam.
The chosen curator will be provided time and space to develop a curatorial project that will reflect the dynamic variety that comprises the Rotterdam art scene. The curator must work with the participating venues and choose one artwork from each venues for the exhibition.
– A well-founded interest in current debates in arts and culture
– A genuine interest in the local art scene of Rotterdam
– Not a post- or undergraduate student
– Submit a general concept for the exhibition

The selected candidate will receive an honorarium of €2500 ex. BTW + expenses (max €300).
The submission deadline is 5 January 2023, 12 PM. A decision will be made by mid-January.

Over three days, Art Central Rotterdam XL will celebrate its second edition, confirming itself as a major event in the art world at the beginning of the spring. Its main objective is to bring the general public closer to contemporary creation and disseminate the Rotterdam artistic scene internationally.
Our vision and goal is to establish Art Central Rotterdam XL as one of the world’s most important Art Weekends, comparable with the likes of Berlin or Madrid both in terms of quality, diversity, and wealth as well as in number of visitors.
